Kim Zolciak-Biermann Says Son KJ Had a Recent "Eye-Opening" Health Emergency
"I had nightmares for weeks," the Don't Be Tardy matriarch shared.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann is opening up about a recent scary experience with her eldest son, KJ.
The Don't Be Tardy matriarch shared in a post on Instagram on December 8 that her 9-year-old had choked on food twice in one week a couple of months ago.
"I wanted to share an eye opening experience with you guys, something that brought me to my knees. A couple months ago KJ choked not once but twice in one week. Kroy [Biermann] had to perform the Heimlich both times on @kroyjaggerbiermann," Kim recalled in the post. "The last time [Kroy] had to do it a few times to dislodge the fried mozzarella. I had nightmares for weeks, still can’t talk about it without crying and I will never forget it. I can still see his face and the fear in his eyes. I graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse for 5 years but when it comes to my kids I just panic. If I had to save my [son's] life of course I would but I’m incredibly thankful Kroy jumped into action."
Following this incident, Kim said that she and Kroy decided it would be a good idea to schedule a refresher course for the whole family on the Heimlich maneuver and CPR. The Instagram post featured videos of an instructor going over the first aid procedures with Kim, Kroy, and all of their children, which, in addition to KJ, includes Brielle, 23, Ariana, 19, Kash, 8, Kane, 7, and Kaia, 7. "Kash specifically asked to take the course so he could save KJ next time," Kim wrote in the post.
All in all, Kim shared that she is grateful that her family remains safe and healthy. "I am so thankful God was watching over us," she wrote on Instagram.
