Kyle Cooke Reacts to His Housemates Saying Amanda Batula Is “Trapped" in Their Relationship
The Summer House cast member has some thoughts of his own about their "future relationships" on the show.
Boys' Night ended on a sour note for Summer House fiancés Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, who got into an argument after Kyle stayed out late and didn't answer Amanda's calls. As all the housemates were privy to the tension in the house, they didn't hold back on sharing their thoughts about Kyle and Amanda's relationship — which has definitely been put to the test this season with arguments about wedding planning, intimacy, and tidiness. Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo expressed that they thought Amanda felt "trapped" in the relationship.
Well, Kyle similarly did not hold back — on his thoughts about his fellow castmates judging his relationship. On March 18, he tweeted, "When friends say Amanda is trapped it really undermines our relationship and belittles what we have. Good luck to future relationships in the house/on the show. It’s not easy putting 4 years of our life out there and being real and honest. The lows suck."
He also reiterated why he didn't answer his phone while out in the Hamptons: "For context I just got the biggest bar in Southampton to serve [Lover Boy] & I was there educating the staff & working with servers to help sell buckets at tables. If we didn’t have a successful weekend, It wouldn’t stay on the menu. The whole house knew this."
However, in hindsight, Kyle does see the error of his ways. "I should have better communicated that to Amanda but I was caught up in the moment of seeing Loverboy served at a bar. And when I got ridiculed it felt like my hard work wasn’t appreciated. It took a collassal effort. I’m sorry baby," he wrote.
Still, he shared that he thinks being in a relationship on reality TV presents a unique set of challenges. Replying to a tweet that read, "Honestly I don’t know how any relationship survives reality tv," Kyle responded, "It’s literally 3x harder than you can imagine. Life happens. We relive it when our friends ask about “drama” on camera. We then relive it during interviews. Then relive it when we watch it. And then deal w it on social. Reality TV is like a bandaid that keeps getting ripped off."
