Kyle Richards shared one of her most intimate and emotional moments ever on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Tuesday night's episode when she had a mammogram. After the doctor told Kyle they had to take a few extra images outside of the normal procedure, she became anxious and tears filled her eyes.

Kyle explained it's so difficult for her to have mammograms done because her mother, Kathleen Richards, died of breast cancer in 2002. "This test gives me so much anxiety, but the reason my mom died of breast cancer is because she didn't go get a mammogram for five years," she explained during the episode. "So if my mom had gone, maybe she would still be there, and I'm haunted by that thought all the time."

Luckily, Kyle's mammogram turned out to be totally fine.

Kyle opened up more about why she decided to share this intense moment with RHOBH fans on Twitter during the episode. "I lost my mom to breast cancer in 2002. The fact that she hadn’t had a mammogram in 5 years haunts me," she shared. "I really wanted to show this to bring awareness re early detection and as a reminder to get checked."

She also thanked fans for their kind words after she was so vulnerable on the show. "I was scared to do this with cameras but felt it was important," Kyle tweeted.

Kyle has often discussed her special bond with her mother and has shared her fondest memories of her loved one over the years on RHOBH. She even immortalized her mother's life in her series American Woman, which was loosely inspired by her upbringing in the 1970s.

Kyle recently honored her mom on Mother's Day earlier this month. "My Mom taught me that being a Mother is the most important job in the world, to be strong, dream big and that I could achieve whatever I wanted in life," she shared in a post that featured several photos of her mom through the years. "Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing women out there."
