All About Amanda Batula's Family, From Her Parents to Her (Very Private) Brother

The Summer House cast member even had her wedding to Kyle Cooke at her childhood home in the Garden State.

By Sophie Vilensky

Throughout her Summer House career, we've learned a great deal about Amanda Batula's romantic life (hi, Kyle Cooke!) and friendships. But what about her relationship with her family?

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

We've gleaned a few details from her time on the show — like the fact that her parents live in New Jersey, where she had her wedding and would like to move at some point soon — and that she has a brother.

In a new, exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, she revealed more about where and (and Kyle) stand with her parents and younger brother, Frankie, today.

Who are Amanda Batula's parents?

Amanda's parents are named Frank and Donna Batula. They've been married since 1988.

The duo have made plenty of appearances throughout their daughter's run on Summer House — including for events related to her wedding, which took place in their backyard in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Another fun Batula family note? Her parents are both talented artists. In April 2024, Frank shared via Instagram that he'd constructed an art supply cabinet for his wife, an artistic feat of its own accord.

"Wow! Nice work, Frank!! Really impressive…almost as impressive as Donna’s paintings," commented a friend.

Amanda has a great relationship with her parents, who still leave in Hillsborough, New Jersey. She'll told The Daily Dish in an interview that they often drop her dogs off at their house in New Jersey and stay for dinner.

"It's kind of like an escape. They've just been so helpful," she told The Daily Dish.

As they've discussed during Summer House Season 8, Kyle and Amanda also eventually plan to make the move to the Garden State

"I do want to start looking for a little spot," she said in Episode 5. "You know I've been wanting to move out of the apartment forever, and I know that we're not gonna move out out permanently, but I really want somewhere to be able to escape to. Somewhere in New Jersey to, like, have all the natural light and the outdoor space."

In their conversation, Kyle declared, "You're really pushing Jersey hard."

Amanda explained why in a confessional.

"My dad's dying for grandkids. My mom is so good with children. So, when we have kids, New Jersey it is," she said. "They would be over all the time helping. We go over to my parents' house, and Kyle's getting hors d'oeuvres and Aperol spritz just, like, handed to him. I'm like, 'You don't want to live near my parents?'"

Do Amanda Batula's parents like Kyle Cooke?

Amanda first commented on her parents' relationship with Kyle during Season 3, Episode 14, after Kyle asked for Frank's blessing to propose to Amanda and Frank gave it. They then went to a party in New York there to support the duo's Loverboy hard tea company, as seen in the video below.

"My parents have loved Kyle since the day they met him but, given Kyle's cheating, they're here tonight to support me but not necessarily to support our relationship," shared Amanda in the episode.

During a February 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Amanda was asked to rate her parents' approval of her then-beau on a scale from one to ten. “I would say probably like a solid eight-and-a-half,” she said.

Does Amanda Batula have siblings?

She had a younger brother name is Frankie — but he's not a reality TV fan.

"I have a younger brother who is not interested in anything that I do or that we do, or like any of it at all," Amanda told The Daily Dish, adding that Frankie also lives in New York City.

"We were close in age but we would wrestle and like I would try to beat him up... until he got taller than me," she said. "He's the best. He's got his sh-t together more than I do."

According to the graphic designer, her brother is also extremely smart and "on top of everything."

An example? "He'll go out to dinner and have a meal that he likes and remake it at home."

Do Amanda Batula's parents run her bank account?

During her recent interview, Amanda shut down rumors that she doesn't manage her own money. Spoiler alert: She does.

"This bothers me so much. People think that I don't do my own taxes and that my parents run my bank account. I don't know where that misconception happened, but I have full access to my bank account. I know exactly how much money I have in it. My parents do not have access to it," she told The Daily Dish.

There is, however, still a separate bank account from when she was a kid — with birthday bonds and the like — that her parents can access.

Amanda explained that she does do her own taxes ... or at least has an accountant work on them just like her husband, Kyle does.

"I'm fully capable," she joked. "I am an adult."

Is Amanda Batula pregnant?

No, she is not pregnant at this time.

Amanda responded to false rumors she was pregnant in a March 2024 Instagram story.

"I'm just exhausted and brain dead, because I am 32 years old, and I just got back from a bachelorette trip, where we drank all day, every day in the hot Florida sun," she explained. "So I am fried. And even if I was pregnant, I am pulling a Kylie Jenner and not telling any of you until that baby comes out of me. OK?"

As of now, the pair's family only includes their two adorable dogs. But they do want kids in the future.

"We know we want to start a family," Kyle shared in Season 8 Episode 4. "But we're really good at procrastinating and not dealing with our issues."

Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke's 2021 Wedding

Kyle Cooke Amanda Batula Wedding 01

Kyle and Amanda got engaged in 2018 and had planned to tie the knot in September 2020, but had to postpone their wedding multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They got married on September 25, 2021 at her parents' home in Hillsborough.

Their cast mate, Carl Radke, officiated the outdoor ceremony.

"It was a long time coming," Amanda told The Daily Dish after the nuptials. "We've been through a lot together and relived a lot of those hard times and good times. So to have it actually happen and to have it happen in my parents' backyard, somewhere I'm obviously familiar with, Kyle is really familiar with."

She wore a white bridal gown with spaghetti straps and a full pleated skirt that she said came from the designer Amsale. (Though Amanda didn't specify the style, it bore a strong resemblance to Amsale's silk-faille Ryder gown, which retailed for $5,500.) Amanda paired the look with delicate jewelry and a transparent cathedral veil.

Kyle shared a look at Amanda's bejeweled wedding bands in an Instagram Story at the time, revealing that the delicate, diamond-studded rings were from Lauren B Jewelry

"1,120 days later," the bride wrote on an Instagram photo that showed her and Kyle looking gleeful during their recessional, after a three-year engagement. "Worth the wait."
