Kyle Richards Reflects on Her "Challenging" Year Amid Split from Mauricio Umansky
The RHOBH mom got candid while sharing a glimpse into her birthday getaway in Mexico.
Kyle Richards is feeling especially “grateful” these days.
After receiving an outpouring of birthday love, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG took some time to share an honest and positive update on her overall well-being. Kyle posted a quick Instagram video that showed her in a yoga class at Susurros del Corazón — a luxury Mexican resort where she celebrated her birthday with a few close friends.
The January 13 post included a lengthy message in which Kyle alluded to her 2023 life changes, such as her decision to give up alcohol and her ongoing separation from Mauricio Umansky.

“My trips to Mexico look a little different these days,” she captioned the video. “While I may not be drinking margaritas by the pool, I am laughing with friends and taking care of myself.”
She continued: “This last year has been challenging but I am grateful that I have the strength to do the things that make me feel good. I have always been my worst critic but now I am appreciative of my body and all that it has carried me through. To wake up feeling physically good every day is a gift I don’t take for granted.”
Kyle also gave thanks to the staff at Susurros del Corazón; her yoga instructor, Alina; and, of course, everyone who sent sweet messages in honor of her special day.
"I am feeling extra grateful for my family & friends," she wrote. "Thank you all for your birthday wishes."
On January 11, the Beverly Hills ’Wife received a slew of birthday tributes from fans, friends, and relatives, including her big sister Kathy Hilton, her three oldest daughters — Farrah Brittany, Sophia Umansky, and Alexia Umansky — and Mauricio.

It’s no secret that 2023 was a challenging year for Kyle, as her personal life became the subject of swirling rumors and speculation. Back in July, reports surfaced that the Beverly Hills mom had split from Mauricio after 27 years of marriage. The husband and wife addressed the whispers in a July 4 statement released on Instagram, insisting they had not discussed legal separation.
“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” the message read in part. “However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously.
“There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part,” the statement continued. “Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”
