On the Season 13 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle went to Dorit Kemsley and Paul "PK" Kemsley's house for dinner. As PK offered Kyle a non-alcoholic beverage, she quipped, "With a personality like this, do you think I need alcohol, PK?" Dorit quickly chimed in, "No you do not, my darling."

Kyle Richards explains why she stopped drinking alcohol

In an interview during the episode, which aired on October 25, Kyle opened up about why she cut alcohol out of her life. "It's been seven-and-a-half months now that I have not had one drop of alcohol," she said. "I just really felt like alcohol wasn't serving me. I wanted to do whatever it took to make me feel better physically and spiritually."

Kyle previously shared why she stopped drinking during a January 2023 interview on Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Tamra Judge’s podcast, Two Ts in a Pod. “After gaining weight during the summer, on July 15 [2022], I got off the boat and I said, ‘That is it. I’m not having any sugar, any carbs, any alcohol. I thought for maybe, you know, two, three weeks until I lost weight,” she said at the time. “But then I was losing weight, I was working out every single day, and I started losing weight and I felt so good, I’m like, ‘Why would I go back to that?’ So I still have not had alcohol at all."

In a July 15, 2023, Instagram post, Kyle reflected on going one year without alcohol. "Today marks one year [alcohol-free] for me," she wrote. "A number of things made me come to the conclusion that I didn’t want to drink. First and foremost, I didn’t feel it had a place where I personally wanted to be. I listened to my heart and the message was clear to me. I knew it was no longer serving me (no pun intended) physically, mentally or spiritually."

"I never put a time frame on when I would drink again or say IF I ever would," she continued in the caption. "All I know is I have never felt better physically or been more clear mentally. I’ve learned that I still [overshare] but at least I don’t have the 'hanxiety' thinking about it... I’ve learned I still do stupid things sometimes and beat myself up about it. I’ve learned I’m still fun... and last but not least I’ve learned it was much easier than I thought it would be."

Although Kyle explained "it was definitely met with resistance by some," she declared, "I have never been one to fall prey to peer pressure. No matter my age. Mainly people are supportive even if they didn’t quite understand since I don’t have a 'problem. with alcohol. Although trust me plenty of times it didn’t feel like that."

In conclusion, Kyle shared: "Alcohol made me feel depressed the next day no matter how fun the night before was. And honestly, life is going to throw us some difficult days. I certainly don’t need to be adding any extra ones to that list."

Kyle has also continued to exercise regularly. On the Season 13 premiere of RHOBH, Mauricio Umansky noted that Kyle had been "working out like a beast" and "eating well" as well as "not drinking."

In addition to frequently using her home gym to work out, Kyle also just accomplished a major goal in her fitness journey. On October 22, she shared via Instagram stories that she had just run her "first 10k." She was also sure to note that the race, which she ran with Teddi and Morgan Wade, was to benefit the Malibu Search & Rescue Team
