Lala Kent Addresses Being “Jealous” of Ariana Madix and Clarifies Their Friendship Status
See what Lala Kent had to say about Ariana's "rise" following her split from Tom Sandoval on WWHL.
A jaw-dropping extended trailer for Vanderpump Rules Season 11 dropped in December that gave fans a look at the cast as they pick up the pieces following the dramatic 10th season. There's no shortage of shocking moments in the preview — from Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz's love triangle, to Katie's clash with Lala Kent, to a potential past secret kiss between Schwartz and Scheana Shay.
Katie isn't the only one Lala is clashing with in the teaser, though. Towards the end of the clip, Lala calls out Ariana Madix, saying, "I have never experienced someone who gets cheated on and, suddenly, she becomes God."
After the moment caused a stir online, Lala took to her Instagram page to sound off on the claim that she's "jealous" of Ariana. More recently, she addressed the same claim during her January 30 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Get details on both of her responses by scrolling below.
Lala Kent Responds to the Claim that She's "Jealous" of Ariana Madix
On WWHL, Andy Cohen brought up the comment Lala made in the trailer and asked if she was "jealous of Ariana's rise" post-split from Tom Sandoval.
Responded Lala, "I am so proud of my friend and I love that everyone was up in arms about what I said. Like, I love when people get that way.I think toward the end of the season it's gonna be made very clearly why I said that, and I think a lot of you will be with me."
Lala initially responded to the chatter about her comments back in December when she cheekily (pun intended) shared a photo of her backside on Instagram and referenced the moment when Sutton Stracke called out Crystal Kung Minkoff's trousers on Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Jealous of what?" Lala captioned the post. "Your ugly leather pants?”
Lala Kent Shares an Update on Her Friendship with Ariana Madix
During an Amazon Live stream also in December, Lala addressed the current status of her friendship with Ariana.
"I am so happy for my friend, Ariana," Lala said. "I have always been a fan of hers. I think that that shows throughout the years. Have we had our ups and downs? Absolutely. But to see my friend thrive after such heartbreak? I am so happy for her, and I am so proud of her."
Lala was also supporting Ariana as she prepared to make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago (which she's since done, as opening night was on January 29). "She's talented as it gets," Lala said. "She belongs on Broadway. The girl can dance, the girl has pipes, the girl can act. She deserves everything that is coming her way."
