Lala Kent Admits To Falling Out With Katie Maloney: "We Distanced Ourselves"

On Season 11, Episode 7 of Vanderpump Rules, Lala Kent and Katie Maloney found themselves in a heated discussion over their differing opinions about Scheana Shay reconciling with Tom Sandoval after his split with Ariana Madix. Their exchange even prompted Lala to tell Katie to “disengage” after going into “defense mode.”

By the end of the episode, Lala and Katie weren’t on good terms, leaving many viewers wondering why things between them escalated so quickly.

Flash-forward to today, Lala provided more context on the duo's rough patch during the March 13 episode of her podcast Give Them Lala“Right before the reunion of Season 10, Katie had gone on a podcast saying, ‘The vibes were off with us,’” Lala explained. "Something had happened, and we just, or I — I don’t know about her — we just never came back to where we were.”

The Backstory of Lala Kent and Katie Maloney’s argument on Vanderpump Rules Season 11

Lala failed to mention exactly why she and Katie fell out last May but noted, "After that happened, we looked at each other differently, and we distanced ourselves." She continued to reveal that in Season 11, viewers will see them work towards rebuilding trust. 

"This season it was like a lot of trying to correct there was just never resolution," Lala shared on her podcast. "It was one thing after the other that we just could not quite conquer and see eye to eye. As the season goes on though, you’ll see that we soften up with each other.”

Fortunately, their time apart allowed both ladies to heal and eventually mend things to get to a “different place now.”

Of course, things between Lala and Katie didn’t settle overnight, which we’ll see on the March 19 episode of Vanderpump Rules.

In a first look of the episode (clip above), the duo meets to hash out their differences. During their sit-down, Lala and Katie immediately admit to not being “proud” of their augment.

“That was the third time that I feel like you’ve looked at me like I’m your enemy,” Lala tells Katie. The blonde beauty further reflects on their relationship in a confessional, adding, “Katie has been like my ride or die for many years, and we’ve been so in sync.”

However, Lala realizes their dynamics have become “different.” Katie and Lala then agree to work on being “softer” to each other in their friendship.

While Katie admits that she’ll improve her approach with Lala, she notes that she’ll work harder on her “toxic” traits. “It’s always tone and delivery with me,” she says.

In the end, Lala and Katie confess they don’t want their relationship to end and hug it out. “I love you, Katie tells Lala, to which she replies, “I love you too.”
