The Vanderpump Rules couple, who got engaged in September 2018, shared the news in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday, March 18, exactly one month before they were slated to tie the knot on April 18. “We have decided to move the date of our wedding to July given the unfortunate circumstances of what is going on,” they said. “We are obviously saddened by this but for the ultimate safety of our families and guests, we have made the decision to wait and see how everything progresses. Safety will always be our number one priority.”

Earlier this week, Lala announced that she would be taking a break from social media. "About to quarantine my ass off. This whole situation has been way too heavy. I’ll catch y’all when this is over," she said in a post on Instagram on March 16. "Until then, be safe, stay healthy, and try not to kill each other over toilet paper."

Randall has also suspended production on his directorial debut, Midnight in the Switchgrass, which he had been filming in Puerto Rico. "We have been shut down, thank you [Puerto Rico]. [We] will be back!" Randall wrote on Instagram on March 16. "Be safe everyone. Take care of each other and your families! [I'm] heartbroken but we need to do what’s right and be safe for one another."

Lala's Vanderpump Rules castmate Stassi Schroeder, who is also supposed to be marrying Beau Clark in Italy this fall, told TV Insider earlier this month that she and her fiancé are taking things "day by day" when it comes to the fate of their wedding.

"Obviously with coronavirus and everything that's happening, we're taking it very seriously. We've had a lot of discussions with [each other], with our wedding planners, with family and friends," she said. "Life happens, so we've mentally and emotionally prepared ourselves to cancel the wedding if it needs to happen, and we get married, I don't know, in a frickin' courthouse in L.A., then it is what it is. Right now all we can do is keep planning for the wedding we hope we're going to have."
