Albie Manzo Says Lauren's Baby Will Be a "Test Run" for His Own Kids
The #Manzod brother can't believe how his sister is handling all of her recent life changes.
The Manzo family is getting ready to welcome their "little mozzarella," a.k.a. Lauren Manzo Scalia and Vito Scalia's first child. As Vito revealed during the Manzo'd with Children season finale, Lauren's eldest brother Albie Manzo had "the best reaction and the biggest reaction" to the news.
He is still filled with as much glee as ever these days. "I’m so excited to be an uncle," Albie told The Daily Dish ahead of the season finale. "I think that she’s obviously going to be a great mom. Chris [Manzo] and I are looking at this like a test run for our kids. It’s going to be fun. I can’t wait."
Albie's own plans to settle down have long been a topic of conversation in the Manzo household. Though he said that the impending arrival of Lauren's bundle of joy has made him think more about starting a family of his own, he's got to find the right woman first. "The thing is, I just want to do it right," he explained. "Lauren, I think her and Vito meeting and then being as perfect for each other as they are is great. I couldn’t be happier for them. I’m just taking my time with it."
But at least Albie has two amazing role models to look up to when he does begin the journey to fatherhood. "I grew up with two really, really great parents," he said. "I think that when I look back on what I want to be when I grow up, I want to be just like my dad [Al Manzo]. And that’s being a great dad."
These days, Albie said Lauren is doing well as she and Vito prepare to welcome a baby girl, who she recently revealed to The Daily Dish is due February 26. In fact, Lauren hasn't slowed down at all, which has really impressed Albie. "I give her a lot of credit because there are so many things that have happened to her at once," he said. "She’s pregnant, has a house, and opening up a new store while keeping up with the brand-new store that she just opened. I don’t know how she does it. She really is amazing. To go through all of these massive life changes, simultaneously, is really not an easy thing to do. I’m really, really proud of her."
