How Lisa Hochstein Found the “Strength” to Show the Details of Her Divorce on RHOM

When Lisa Hochstein learned that her husband, Dr. Lenny Hochstein, wanted a divorce while she was in the middle of filming The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5, she dug deep and found strength that she didn’t know she had.

Lisa, who joined the cast during Season 2 back in 2012, had been married to the plastic surgeon since 2009. The pair welcomed a son, Logan, and a daughter, Elle, via surrogate before they separated in 2022. During filming, Lenny was caught talking to a friend on a hot mic about how he wanted a divorce and had already moved on.

Amid her tough separation, Lisa continued to shoot Season 5, and she didn’t hide what she was going through.

“There were days when I couldn’t get out of bed, but the show goes on and life goes on,” Lisa told OK! Magazine. “I’m in mid-season filming, having no idea this was going to happen. But I kept on filming and telling my story. I tried to do it with as much grace as I could considering this happened with two little babies.”

In the early days of her split, Lisa had good days and bad days.

“I didn’t know I had that strength within me. There’s times where I’m in bed in the fetal position crying about these things. I’m human, we have these moments. I’m just trying to be as strong as I can for my kids because I don’t want them to see that,” she said. “I don’t want my daughter and my son to understand at their young age what’s happening right now.”

The mom of two also wasn’t alone as she navigated her separation.

“All the women really rallied behind me and they were so supportive,” Lisa said. “There’s not one in the group that didn’t try to be there for me.”

In addition to getting support from her castmates, Lisa also leaned on a RHOM alum during her time of need: Lea Black. On the February 23 episode, Lisa met with the Texas native to discuss her difficult divorce, and she got some much-needed words of encouragement.

“You have your children, you have friends, you have so many things in your life that you should get up every day and the first thing you should [say] is, ‘I am gonna give thanks for all the good things I have in my life today,’” Lea told her.

Aside from her loved ones and kids, Lisa has someone special in her life now: her boyfriend, Jody Glidden.

Lisa confirmed that she was dating the entrepreneur while chatting with ET — and she said he’s also been a great source of support for her.

“I’m dating this guy. He’s a great guy,” she said. “He’s been super supportive of me… [He] has empathy, he cares.”
