Dorinda Medley Is "Heartbroken" Following Luann de Lesseps' Recent Court Appearance
"I know it’s a terribly hard journey and we are all rooting for her," The Real Housewives of New York City radio host shared.
Dorinda Medley is showing support for her fellow New York Housewife Luann de Lesseps following her appearance in court in Palm Beach on Thursday, May 23. “I was heartbroken and I wish her well,” Dorinda told Page Six on Thursday. “I know it’s a terribly hard journey and we are all rooting for her. I lit a candle for her yesterday.”
After her court appearance on Thursday, Luann addressed reports that she was briefly taken into custody for alleged probation violations and will return to jail in a statement to PEOPLE. “These reports are false,” she said. “I’m glad the judge was understanding once made aware of the evidence provided and I was then released. I am now looking forward to completing my remaining few months of probation. I want to put this behind me and move forward with my life.”
Luann previously opened up about her sobriety in a statement to PEOPLE following reports about her parole earlier this month. “I take my sobriety very seriously and like many in my situation, it is a daily struggle," she said. "I remain committed to doing whatever it takes to continue living a healthy sober lifestyle.”
In her interview with Page Six, Dorinda also offered up some words of wisdom to Luann on how to get through a dark time, which she learned after the passing of her husband, Richard Medley, in 2011. “I know she probably can’t believe it now because I will say this, when Richard got terribly sick and died, there is something positive that will come out of that,” Dorinda shared. “I know it’s darkness before dawn, but there is always is something wonderful, positive thing that will come out of it.”
Lala Kent, who has been candid about her own battle with sobriety this season of Vanderpump Rules, also shared some words of encouragement to Luann in her Instagram Story. "My heart goes out to my fellow Bravo family member," she wrote. "Sobriety isn't something that can be conquered. We are human and it is a day to day struggle. She will be back on her feet in no time."
