Luis D. Ortiz Dreams of Rapping with Jay Z
Is the #MDLNY agent's debut hip-hop album on the way?
The Million Dollar Listing New York agents are not against a good side hustle. Ryan Serhant has his acting, while Fredrik Eklund has taken up painting. Luis D. Ortiz has shown off his impressive rapping skills on the show (which you can see for yourself below), but he has yet to release an album. So when the Daily Dish recently caught up with the MDLNY star, we tried to get to the bottom of it and see if his debut album is on its way.
"Maybe! Maybe! It's a possibility," he says, with a laugh, quickly adding that if given the chance he'd really like to work with hip-hop icon Jay Z. However he's not sure Hova has what it takes to rap alongside him.
"I don't know if he... I think he's a little bit scared to do an album with me," he jokes. "You could see that, right?"
Luis does have a flair for the creative. Before he brokered his first deal, or even showed off his freestyling skills on MDLNY, he was an aspiring filmmaker. Earlier this year, he opened up about his transition from cinema to real estate.
"I've always been fascinated with telling stories," he shared with Inman back in May, noting that while he completed two films, the second film remains locked away somewhere. "To this day no one has ever seen a cut of that film except myself," he shared. So that's when he turned to real estate.
"I'm excited about not just real estate, but I'm excited about life in general. And it just happens that I chose to [bring that enthusiasm to] real estate," he further noted.
