Margaret Josephs Opens up About the "Shame" She Felt After Being Sexually Harassed When She Was Younger

Margaret Josephs opened up about her past like never before during the March 17 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. She addressed not only her childhood and the lessons she learned from her mom, Marge Sr., but also other topics, including her first marriage as well as her relationship with her current husband, Joe Benigno.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

Margaret also detailed the early days of her career in the fashion industry and the pressure she felt sexually by her boss. It's an experience she not only shared with those in her inner circle, but she also will include in her upcoming memoir, Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget: How to Survive in Business and Life.

Previously, it was that conversation about her early career that left the RHONJ cast with many feelings, and in the RHONJ Season 11 After Show, Dolores Catania showed her support for her friend. In the Bravo Insider clip above, Dolores says that it was "so extremely brave" of Margaret to put her past out there: "I just find it so extremely brave of Margaret to come forward with that."

Margaret reflected more on her past and the "shame" she felt in certain instances in great detail in the After Show clip above, as Dolores continued to applaud her openness and courage with the hopes that it can help young women today.

"And I think that it's going to help so many young women from just hearing what she just said, and they're going to be able to relate to those feelings," Dolores said. "And they're gonna say, 'Yeah, that's how I feel, so I don't have to be ashamed of what I did. I feel the way she did, and what happened to me was wrong and not my fault.' So, I'm just so proud of Margaret."
