Marlo Hampton is definitely a catch — but she hasn't been caught just yet.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta friend explained that she is currently single by design, because she now has some more people to consider when choosing a partner: her nephews, Michael, 12, and William, 11, whom she is now raising. She previously said on RHOA that she wants someone who is "well-off" and "has a business." But now?
"With me, it's like: thank God I'm single. I can't deal with this," she said on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Afters Show. "I am single. You know, there are a lot of men, but there's not a man."
And Nene Leakes thinks she knows why: "Marlo is way too picky. There is not a man for her. She would have to make him herself."
But Marlo explains her reasoning: "I really want one man. Due to I have my nephews now, I want them to be around someone they can look up to, and just see the duties of a man. 'Cause I try at home: I'm like, OK, I have the deep voice, I try and yell, but it's like, Auntie, you're watching five-inch-heels and long hair and lipstick, you're not a man. I feel like I want a man I can trust and be my best friend."
This is a sentiment she echoed in an interview with The Daily Dish podcast. As a full time "Munty," it definitely takes a toll on her love life.
"I don’t have no damn luck in it," she admitted. "I don’t know if I run them off or not, guys. My nephews are really gonna run them off."
Still, it sounds like she wouldn't change her Munty status for the world: "I am the primary caregiver. The only caregiver, yes. It’s amazing. A year ago, I would never think I would be here. I never thought I would be waking up worrying about, did you eat your breakfast? Did you brush your teeth for five minutes? Is your homework ready? Do you have your Thursday folder signed?" Marlo said. "It’s like, really, God? This is what you had planned? But I’m enjoying it. I feel that God doesn’t make any mistakes, and I’m right where I need to be."
