Salt Lake City Housewife Mary Cosby Shares Why She Had Her Odor Glands Removed
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member explains the procedure mentioned in the series premiere.
When Mary Cosby sat down with Jen Shah to discuss her "smelled like hospital" comment at Meredith Marks' birthday party in the series premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, she explained that being reminded of the scene brought up very bad memories for her.
"I have a bad, dark place going to hospital. I had to have 12 surgeries getting all my odor glands removed. The worst experience of my life. Like, dark, very dark," Mary explained to Jen. "I mean, they lost me twice. Literally, I was dying on the table two times."
Mary opened up more about why she had her odor glands removed during the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show on November 11. "I have an autoimmune [disease] where it causes my body to attack my odor glands, and when they attack them, they cause big boils," Mary shared in the above clip. "So I was getting boils everywhere, so my doctor suggested I remove all the odor glands."
Aside from the drama in the RHOSLC series premiere, Mary thankfully appears to be living a #blessed life today — and looking as fabulous than ever, as evidenced by this recent photo of her on Instagram.
