12 Things You Didn't Know About Mauricio Umansky
His status as one of the country's top real estate agents is only the beginning for this #RHOBH husband.

On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we know Mauricio Umansky as Kyle Richards' husband of nearly 20 years and father to their daughters Alexia, Sophia, and Portia. We also know that he's kind of a big deal in the real estate world, running the luxury real estate firm The Agency as its CEO. He was also recognized as the No.3 realtor in the country and No.1 in California by total sales volume by Real Trends, Inc. earlier this year.
However, there's much more to Mauricio than what we see of his work life and family time on TV. Get to know even more about the Househusband's background, business, and hobbies below, and it'll be easy to see why Kyle has kept him around for all of these years.
1. He Wasn't Always in Real Estate
Mauricio is known for taking the real estate world by storm, but that wasn't initially where he saw his career going. After graduating college, Mauricio began a clothing company called 90265. "I started the fad of oversized T-shirts on girls wearing leggings," Mauricio said of his company in an August 2015 interview with Worth. Mauricio said his company "did quite well," so much so that he was able to sell it when he was 26 years old. While figuring out his next career move, Mauricio realized he would combine his love of sales and architecture to pursue a career in real estate. Soon, he got a job at the luxury real estate firm Hilton & Hyland, which was co-founded by his brother-in-law Rick Hilton. We definitely think Mauricio has found his calling.
2. He's Had a Lot of Interesting Clients Over the Years
Mauricio must be both a great broker and a great guy because Kyle's ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie gave Mauricio his first sale with his $7.5 million property in Brentwood, California, according to Worth. Mauricio's clientele would only get much more star-studded after that, boasting names such as Lady Gaga, Michael Jordan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Perhaps some of Mauricio's high-profile clients will star in one of The Agency's mini-movies next.
3. He Has a No ***hole Rule at The Agency
Real estate can be a cutthroat business, but it doesn't have to be. Mauricio implemented what he calls a "No ***hole Rule" at The Agency in order to foster teamwork. "I created the 'No ***hole Rule' at my company because we want to be able to share. We want to be able to have collaboration in the company, we want everyone to be able to trust each other, and if there's an asshole, then we can't trust each other," Mauricio told Inman Next in 2012, as you can see in the clip above (that features some strong language). "That one bad seed, you know, really can destroy the entire company, so no ***holes." This also just happens to be a good way to live your life in general.
4. He's Been on a Bunch of Other Reality TV Shows
We're used to seeing Mauricio frequently appear on RHOBH. However, it wouldn't be unusual to see him pop up elsewhere on your TV. Mauricio has also appeared on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles in the past. In fact, agents David Parnes and James Harris work with Mauricio at The Agency. He has also shown up on E!'s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills as mentor to cast member Brendan Fitzpatrick, who also works at The Agency, and on ABC Family's Job or No Job to interview that week's real estate-focused job candidate. Where will we see Mauricio next?
5. He's Not Originally from Beverly Hills
If you've detected that Mauricio has a little bit of a foreign accent on RHOBH, you'd be right. Mauricio was born and raised in Mexico until he was six years old and moved to the United States. His family is also Greek and Russian. It's no wonder we often see Mauricio out and about experiencing other cultures.
6. His Parents are Also High Achievers
One reason Mauricio is successful is probably because he's grown up seeing his parents achieve big things as well. His mother, Estella Sneider, is a psychologist and sex therapist that has appeared on RHOBH as well as on several other national TV and radio shows. (She also doesn't look old enough to be Mauricio's mom, just saying.) His father, Eduardo Umansky, is also in real estate, having worked at Hilton & Hyland with Mauricio before joining him at The Agency. A family doesn't get any more fabulous than this.
7. He Had a Lot of Health Issues as a Kid
Mauricio is the spitting image of health these days, but it wasn't always like that. After he was born, Mauricio was diagnosed with neutropenia, which occurs when someone has an unusually low count of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that helps fight off infection. During the first four years of his life, Mauricio was in and out of the hospital as his weak immune system made him especially susceptible to illness, as his mother detailed in a lengthy Facebook note at the beginning of this year. Thankfully, Mauricio overcame the disease, and he has never let this adversity slow him down.
8. He's Jewish
If you've been celebrating the eight nights of Mauricio this Hanukkah like we have, then you already know he's Jewish and that Kyle converted to Judaism before the two got married. However, we'll take any excuse to revisit Mauricio's adorable bar mitzvah photo. Mazel to us, indeed.
9. Actor John Turturro Is His Doppelganger
The two look so much alike that when you Google "Mauricio Umansky," a photo of the character actor, known for his roles in Barton Fink, Quiz Show, and The Big Lebowski, appears in place of the real estate agent. But hopefully, that'll be good for business.
10. He Looks Just as Good with a Mustache
It looks like Mauricio grew a 'stache for Movember this year, and we wouldn't mind if he decided to rock that look all year long.
11. He's Great at Golf
When Mauricio isn't with his family or out closing a deal on a multi-million dollar home, you can probably find him out on the links. He's even got the bag and the bobblehead to prove his love for the sport.
12. He's a True Outdoorsman
In fact, Mauricio spends a ton of time outdoors. Whether he's wakeboarding, hitting the slopes, or just chilling, Mauricio is basically our very own Paul Bunyan.
