Teresa Giudice Shares Her Thoughts on Joe and Melissa Gorga’s Marriage
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member opened up about her brother's relationship.
Throughout Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Melissa Gorga was open about the changing dynamic in her marriage to husband Joe Gorga. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following the May 12 RHONJ season finale, Melissa’s sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, weighed in on the situation.
When asked to share an example of behavior Teresa sees from her new man, Luis "Louie" Ruelas that her brother "could learn from," Teresa revealed that she is less clued-in to the Gorgas’ relationship than some may think (clip above).
“Oh my god. This is such a hard question. I don’t really know their relationship, Andy,” said Teresa. “I mean, I see it on the surface, but I’m not behind closed doors with them. I don’t know what happens, you know? I don’t.”
Perhaps the biggest reason for tension between Melissa and Joe has been a difference in opinion over Melissa’s career goals. Andy asked, “Do you think Melissa earning her own money makes Joe insecure?” To which Teresa shared, “No, I think my brother likes that. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be on the show. She’s on the show and she adds to the income. And he’s all about that, too, because he’s part of it also.”
Finally, Teresa shared her best advice for what “Melissa could do” to “ease Joe’s fear that she’s growing out of him.”
“She should just give him more attention. My brother and I, we’re very affectionate people,” explained Teresa. “And by just touching him and being all over him, I mean, that’s how they used to be. Maybe they’re not like that so much now, maybe? I don’t know. Because they’ve been married for a while. Maybe she needs to go back to how she was when they were together.”
