Shahs of Sunset OG Asa Soltan Rahmati recently confirmed that she would be taking a step back from the show this season and is focusing on her family, which includes her 17-month-old son, Soltan Jackson, as well as on expanding her business. In an interview with The Daily Dish podcast, longtime friends Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Reza Farahan reacted to her decision to leave.

"It was just an unfortunate dynamic," MJ said of her relationship with Asa while filming. "I'm so open and I'm not passive-aggressive; if something bothers me, I want to talk about it, and if you try to have a friendship with someone who's closed off and secretive, then it just eventually lands on its face."

Reza agreed with Asa's choice to refocus her energy away from the show: "I totally respect her decision. She's focused on her man and her baby and her business. And I don't think it was a right fit for her anymore. She didn't feel super open to the group and she has her own new, smaller group now that she's about."

On the season premiere of Shahs of Sunset, MJ said she felt that now that Asa wasn't around as much, she and Reza had become close and were getting along much better. However, that doesn't mean they don't have a relationship with her. They confirmed to The Daily Dish that Asa is not a part of the Shahs' group text but that they do text with her individually. MJ recently said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that Asa reached out with condolences when her father passed away. "We text. She's good. Her baby's beautiful ... All is well. We're friends," Reza added during the appearance.

Asa will be making an appearance on Shahs later this season; check out her cameo, below, and make sure to tune in to Shahs of Sunset every Thursday at 9/8c.
