Nene Leakes Addresses Gregg FaceTiming Another Woman
The RHOA cast member opened up about an incident involving her husband last year.
Nene Leakes and Gregg Leakes have been quite candid over the years about the ups and downs in their relationship. And now The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is opening up about a recent incident involving her longtime husband.
While appearing on the Lip Service podcast, Nene addressed a tweet she sent out in June 2019 in which she wrote: "U find out ur husband/boyfriend been talkin on the phone regularly to 1 of ur female employees as 'just a friend' but u had no knowledge of it, did he cross any lines? Askin 4 a friend since y’all know EVERYTHING but he said, we never talked sex! I just needed some1 to talk 2."
Now, on the podcast appearance, she noted that the tweet was prompted by an incident with Gregg that took place in 2019 following the opening of a clothing store at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland. At the time, Gregg had helped hire employees for the store.
“[He’s] really good with all things that I’m not good with," she said, via PEOPLE, noting that the woman in question, “she’s very much Gregg’s type and Gregg very much likes girls with short hair. When he met me, I had short hair.”
The alleged FaceTiming between Gregg and the female employee came to light at a store meeting when one male employee mentioned it in front of everyone.
“I’m in a whole room and I’m standing up and I didn’t get out of character I just said, ‘Really?' I knew [the male employee who mentioned it] wasn’t lying... And she was in shock."
Gregg denied the allegation and the employee was let go (neither she nor Gregg addressed the incident when contacted by PEOPLE). Nene claimed Gregg later tried to explain the incident to his wife.
She said he told her: “We never did anything. We just talked on the phone. We never had sex... You weren’t here for me to talk to."
She noted they didn't speak for months following the incident, but they are better now.
Gregg and Nene have been married twice, and back at the Season 11 reunion addressed their marital woes at the time, noting that they were seeing a marital counselor.
On the podcast, Nene revealed her philosophy on her relationship with Gregg, who is recovering from being diagnosed with cancer back in 2018.
“Gregg has taken passes that I didn’t even give him. At this point, if he wanted to go, he would go the hell on. I like to talk open relationships and I have talked about that with Gregg and told him, ‘If you’re going to cheat, your relationship is open anyway,'” Nene said, which is something she's addressed to BravoTV.com previously.
She continued: “If Gregg wanted to be with someone right now, I would say go right on. Why am I going to try and keep him from doing something he wants to do? Then I would have to make a choice if I want to say and I probably would.”
