Tiffany Haddish doesn't just completely lose it when she's around the likes of Oprah Winfrey; she also couldn't contain her excitement when she crossed paths with Meryl Streep on the Oscars red carpet Sunday. And who could blame her, really?
Haddish, who was a presenter at the 90th Annual Academy Awards, made quite the impression even before the ceremony began when she spotted Streep across the way on the red carpet. Haddish then picked up the skirt of her gown and promptly hopped over a velvet rope on the red carpet to meet Streep, who was nominated for Best Actress that night, her 21st Oscar nom.
The below video of the star-studded moment shared on Twitter shows Haddish and Streep briefly hugging and having a friendly exchange. Haddish even curtsied to the Queen of Hollywood before the actresses parted ways again.
Haddish told Ryan Seacrest earlier in the night that she was hoping to run into Streep in order to ask her to play her mom in the upcoming Girls Trip sequel. It's unclear if Haddish was able to seal the deal, but we're hoping Streep will at least consider it.
In addition to meeting Hollywood royalty, Haddish looked like a queen herself in her Oscars outfit. She paid tribute to her late father, who was originally from Eritrea, with her look. “He said one day I would end up here, and if I ever end up at the Oscars to honor my people,” Haddish said during ABC's red carpet coverage, according to TIME. “So I’m honoring my fellow Eritreans.”
Haddish had a sweet story behind her red carpet look at the 2018 Oscars.
