Padma Lakshmi Just Revealed What She's Looking For in Her Dream Guy
The #TopChef host opens up about the kind of man she wants to date.
Padma Lakshmi is an open book in her recently-released memoir, Love, Loss and What We Ate, in which she details her personal and romantic life in great detail. The book also, of course, discusses her love affair with food, as well as her viewpoints on feminism. The Top Chef host isn't shy to call herself one, so if you're looking to score a date with her, you shouldn't be either.
"I would say that I come from a long line of feminists. Maybe my grandmother wouldn’t call herself one — just because she didn’t know to — but if she started describing her philosophies, they would be in line with the notion that men and women are equal," she told The New York Times. "I don’t think I would date somebody who didn’t consider himself a feminist, frankly."
In the memoir, Padma discusses her relationship with late business mogul and Republican Teddy Forstmann. When asked if she thought he was a feminist, she quipped. "You’re assuming that a Republican is not a feminist," before adding, "I think more people are feminists than they let on." Well, there you go.
And, below, you can check out some throwback photos of Padma from her days as a model.
