Patti Stanger Plans to 'Drop Dead'
Will acting be a perfect match?
Patti Stanger will jump from reality to scripted television this summer when she plays a "high-profile, brutally honest dating-show guru" on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, according to TV Guide. Sounding vaguely familiar?
"I can't wait to go head-to-head with Margaret Cho — I love, love her," the Millionaire Matchmaker dishes to TV Guide about her appearance on an upcoming August episode. "Watch out, lady, I'm bringing you down!"
Patti's character ends up suing Teri (Margaret Cho) for slander after T spills the beans about Patti's promiscuous character's unsavory nickname in high school: Hoover... yup, like the vacuum. How does the tell-it-like-it-is lady feel about her role? "@DropDeadDiva So excited to be on the show," she tweeted. "Luv the whole cast & concept! X0" And apparently, the feeling's mutual: "And we love YOU!" the show tweeted back.
While she may be treading (barely) into new territory, Patti also plans to stick with what she knows best: hooking people up . "While I'm on set, maybe I can do a little matchmaking!" the Jersey native adds.
