For years, Peter Madrigal rocked his signature long hair while trying to manage the rambunctious crew of Vanderpump Rules. But in 2016, everything changed for the SUR manager when he did the unthinkable and chopped off his locks. And, yes, he understands how big of a deal it was.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

"This is an end of an era, you don’t understand. I showed up to SUR with clean face, baby face and a comb over haircut with gel in my hair," he told The Daily Dish. "And then I grew my hair out in 2010 and now I just cut it March 22, 2016. That’s a big journey."

Peter shows off his sophisticated, new look on the left.

But, Peter knew he needed a change. "What made me cut it was I had just gotten tired of it. I had gotten tired of having long hair. I had gotten tired of looking kind of unprofessional. Like you said before, I’m very business oriented and I wanted to look more business-y. That was my main focus and my main goal," he said. "I didn’t want to have long hair anymore. I think it was played out at this point. Played out. Done. Move on to the next thing. I wanted to stand out in a group. I did. It worked for me. Now I am loving my short hair. It is a phase. Having long hair for 6 years like that, especially for a guy, is a lot of work and it can get annoying. It was time."

Plus, he thinks he's looking pretty good with the new, shorter hair. "I think I look sexier now with the short hair. This is my opinion," he said. "Please ask Jennifer Lawrence. Please ask her."
