Kandi Burruss Remembers Prince: "I Will Cherish His Music Always"
The #RHOA singer-songwriter opens up about the iconic musician's passing.
Following the news of Prince's death on Thursday, April 21, Kandi Burruss opened up about the legendary artist's legacy, calling the 57-year-old one of her "favorite artists of all time."
"I'm speechless about Prince's death. He's one of my favorite artists of all time," The Real Housewives of Atlanta singer-songwriter said in an exclusive statement to The Daily Dish. Kandi also posted a tribute in remembrance of the "When Doves Cry" singer on Instagram. "When I heard he died it brought tears to my eyes. I will cherish his music always."
Prince was found dead at his Chanhassen, Minnesta compound, Paisley Park, on April 21. The news of his passing came just days after it was reported he had been battling the flu after his plane had to make an emergency landing in Illinois on April 15. His publicist later confirmed the news of his death to the Associated Press.
Born Prince Rogers Nelson in 1958, the Minneapolis native was a skilled singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor who became known for his flamboyant and eccentric persona. He won seven Grammys, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and sold over 100 million records during his illustrious career, which included the release of unforgettable singles like "Purple Rain," "1989," and "When Doves Cry."
