Lala Kent Opens Up About Her Sobriety

Lala Kent has a lot to celebrate these days! The Vanderpump Rules cast member recently announced that she is expecting her first child — a baby girl — with Randall Emmett. But a bundle of joy isn’t the only major life event Lala has reached lately, and her fiancé shared a look at her most recent milestone: achieving two years of sobriety.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

In an incredibly supportive November 2 Instagram post, Randall showed lots of love for Lala as they recognized the big day. “I can’t tell you how proud of you I am! 2 years ago, you decided to change your life forever. You made a decision, do the work, and it brings tears to my eyes to see your path of sobriety,” Randall wrote in the caption. “I love you and toast you tonight on your biggest success in life. Can’t wait to see our next chapter with our baby on the way.”

To commemorate the achievement, Lala enjoyed a slice of cheesecake with two candles in it, and an alcohol-free beer.

A few of Lala and Randall’s fellow Vanderpump Rules friends commented on their post to share some love, including James Kennedy, who wrote, “That’s boss! Congrats @lalakent.” Jax Taylor wrote, “Cheesecake!! Yum. Congrats Lala,” while Brittany Cartwright filled the post up with heart emojis.

Lala has previously opened up about her sobriety in various Instagram posts, as well as during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, in which she made the decision “the best day of my life.”

“I take it one day at a time. There are moments that I’m like, ‘Oh, I could really use a bottle of vodka right now,’ but I now have the tools to get through those moments,” she explained in the video, above. “I know that there’s no other way for me to live.”

Lala has also used her experience as a way to help others, including The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, who recently thanked the mama-to-be for helping her throughout her sobriety journey
