“For everyone that has been asking for an update on my mom [Barbara’s] cancer journey, I am so excited to let you all know that today was her last day of radiation, and she is by the grace of God cancer free!!! Thanksgiving came early,” Cynthia posted on Tuesday, November 22. “Thank you all for your love, prayers, [and] well wishes! Glory be to God!… Health is wealth.”

Cynthia quickly felt the love of those she’s close to after sharing the news, including Mike Hill and Leon Robinson, who both commented on Cynthia’s post with celebratory emojis.

Cynthia first addressed her mom’s breast cancer diagnosis in August. Shortly after she posted the news to Instagram, she spoke with The Daily Dish about how the diagnosis was “a wakeup call.”

When speaking with The Daily Dish, she noted that radiation and no chemo was the treatment plan, and that “we should be good after that.”

“The bottom line is we caught it early,” she said at the time. “I will say, mentally, it kinda took a toll on her because she’s older and she has some other health issues, and it was just like I had to make that decision to get on the plane and just come to Atlanta and be here for her… I’ll be here until we get to the other side of this whole thing and I know that she’s good.”
