Cynthia Bailey Explains Why She’s “Never Been to a Wedding” Like Teresa Giudice’s Before
The RHOA alum attended the RHONJ cast member’s wedding to Luis “Louie” Ruelas, and now she’s taking you inside the lavish event.
Teresa Giudice’s wedding to Luis “Louie” Ruelas is officially wrapped and the couple is now living in wedded bliss, but the event remains a hot topic. Held in New Jersey earlier this month, the wedding was not only a lavish affair but also a treat for Bravo fans, as Real Housewives from across the franchise were in attendance at the nuptials, including The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Cynthia Bailey.
The Daily Dish recently spoke with Cynthia, who revealed why this wedding was unlike any she’s ever been to before.
“I will say the only [thing], and it’s not even a negative thing, but if I could say one thing about them that they could’ve maybe cut down on was the food. I’ve never been to an Italian wedding. It was ridiculous,” she revealed. “I’ve never been to a wedding like that. There was food outside, there was food inside. I was like, this is insane. These people know how to throw a party. [Food was] everywhere. Everything you could think of. Like, lamb chops, sushi, chicken, steak, lamb… like anything. It was crazy.”
The guest list was also as A-list as the menu, and Cynthia enjoyed mixing it up with ’Wives from across the Bravo galaxy: RHONJ’s Jennifer Aydin, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, and Jackie Goldschneider (Jennifer and Dolores were bridesmaids); The Real Housewives of Dubai’s Chanel Ayan; The Real Housewives of Miami’s Alexia Nepola; The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby; The Real Housewives of New York City’s Dorinda Medley and Jill Zarin; and RHOA’s Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks.
“It was pretty cool, and all the Jersey Housewives I love [were there]. It was fun. It did feel almost like a little mini BravoCon,” she said. “I was excited to be there to share in that moment with Teresa. I think that she deserves this. I’m so excited for them.”
She also noted that the whole event “was beautiful. I’m honored to have been invited.”
Fans will recall that Teresa and Cynthia bonded when they appeared together on Season 1 of Peacock’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. When speaking with The Daily Dish earlier this week, Cynthia noted that she and The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member remained close even after the trip ended.
“Honestly, Teresa and I really connected on Girls Trip. She was one of my favorites. She’s definitely the Housewife I was most excited to get to know because I feel like with everything that she’s gone through... I’ve gone through a lot too. I’ve gone through marriages and divorces on this show, but to actually go through some of the things that she went through, like going to jail and all that stuff, I was like, ‘I need to be friends.’ Like, how do you get to be outside of that? What kind of strong woman is this? So I really was excited to just get to know her and she was such a sweetheart.”
In fact, Cynthia noted, “She’s definitely my favorite on the trip, and we’ve kept in touch.” They’ve even taken their friendship to the next level.
“When she and Louie come to L.A., [my husband] Mike [Hill] and I meet them for dinner. Mike and Louie actually connected. They really organically became friends. So it was pretty cool. It was pretty cool to go and celebrate her [at the wedding]. You guys know when I met Mike, I was like, ‘Mike, Mike, Mike.’ And Teresa’s kinda like, ‘Louie, Louie, Louie.’ So it was just really cool to see her find love again and just be in such a happy place in her life, and I like Louie,” she said. “I think he’s a great guy. I couldn’t be more happy for them, and their wedding was incredible. It was just so beautiful.”
