Riley Burruss Shares an Update on College Life and Reveals Her Career Aspirations
RHOA’s Riley Burruss is all grown up — and she’s hoping to follow in her famous mom’s music footsteps.
In the years since Kandi Burruss joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, fans have seen her daughter Riley Burruss grow up before their eyes.
Riley was just 7 years old when Kandi made her RHOA debut on Season 2, and she’s now a 20-year-old college student. Now that she’s an adult, Riley is figuring out what she wants to do when it comes to her future career. At the moment, she’s looking to follow in her famous mom’s footsteps.
While appearing on the October 20 episode of the In the Know by AOL web series, Riley chatted with fellow Real Housewives kid Brooks Marks (whose mom is The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Meredith Marks) about “what’s new” in her life.
The 20-year-old shared that she’s in her “third year at NYU,” and that she’s interning at a label to “get more in the music industry.”
“I feel like I’m in my rebranding era, to be honest,” Riley told Brooks, before adding that she’s trying “to find [her] thing.”
Though Riley wants to pursue a career in the same industry as her mom, she’s looking to do something a bit different from the songstress.
“I want to work in the music industry, on the business side,” Riley said to Brooks. “So, of course, she played a huge role in that, just growing up, seeing her do music, and then also work on the back end.”
Brooks pointed out that there aren’t a lot of women who work on the business side of music, but Riley noted that she has quite the role model to look up to: her mother.
“Just seeing her do everything by herself and just killing it is what inspired me,” Riley said about Kandi.
