“He called me before he put out the apology,” Garcelle recently told E! News, “and he’s great.”

“There were a lot of things that were missed during the reunion and it was really sad and unfortunate,” she continued, “but I like Andy and I think the fact that he stood up and said something meant a lot.”

In his apology, Andy expressed his regret for not being “more in tune” with Garcelle’s feelings amid the conversation about her memoir during Part 2 of the reunion. The topic arose when Lisa Rinna revealed that she was responsible for throwing away Garcelle’s book and snapping a photo of it in the trash, despite Erika Jayne being the one to post the picture on Instagram. Andy followed up the admission by poking fun at Lisa’s recycling habits, while some fans felt he should’ve instead checked in with Garcelle so she could express her feelings about the hurtful matter.

Looking back, Andy agreed. “I’ve been listening to everyone’s feedback about the reunion, and I really need to sincerely apologize, not only for diverting the topic but for not returning — even worse — to the serious conversation that was at hand,” the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host said on October 24, adding that he has a “deep admiration” for Garcelle.
