Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Shares a "Happy" Melanoma Update
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has "a new sense of peace" after undergoing surgeries to remove stage 2 melanomas.
Teddi Mellencamp has reached a monumental milestone in her fight against skin cancer.
After revealing that she has stage 2 melanoma in October, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 7 with an update she was "happy to share."
"Pathology is back — the surgeries were successful and the margins are clear," Teddi's caption continued. "I also got genetic testing results and there are no mutations we need to worry about. And I just had a healthy mammogram (please don’t forgo these either, ladies)."
Now, after saying good riddance to 11 melanomas and 3 lymph nodes, Teddi's feeling "a new sense of peace."
"It’s been eye-opening how quickly things can change and it’s a lesson I will never forget, nor quit speaking up about," she added. "I want nothing more than for all of you to be proactive so you do not have to experience this."
Pairing the inspirational caption with before-and-after photos of where her melanomas were, Teddi told her followers, "Let my scars be your inspiration to get preventative care." She also revealed her plans for continued treatment, writing, "I will now continue to get checked every 4-6 weeks, as my doc says this may be a record number in one area. You guys know I’m competitive but this is one record I’m not looking to beat."
"As always, thanks for all the love, support and well-wishes," Teddi concluded. "I feel very blessed and grateful for it all."
Several Bravolebrities shared in celebrating the good news by commenting with congratulatory messages, including RHOBH's Lisa Rinna, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Lisa Barlow, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Cynthia Bailey, among others.
The post was one of many Teddi's made since confirming her diagnosis. As she explained during a Watch What Happens With Andy Cohen appearance in November, "The biggest thing for me is being able to be vulnerable and talk about it with other people."
