Find Out What Has Garcelle Beauvais Saying "That’s a Wrap"
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member shared the exciting news on Instagram.
And, scene! Garcelle Beauvais just officially finished production on one of her latest acting gigs, The Other Black Girl.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member took to Instagram on Saturday, February 11 to make the announcement, sharing several photos from the shoot, including a selfie, group snapshots with her co-stars, a picture of the Hulu show's official clapperboard, and more.
"That’s a wrap on The [O]ther [B]lack [G]irl!" Garcelle captioned the post. "I can’t wait for you guys to see the series!! From producers, writers, directors to cast, and crew [it's] just awesome."
Per Deadline, The Other Black Girl — which is based Zakiya Dalila Harris’ New York Times best-selling novel of the same name — "follows Nella, an editorial assistant, who is tired of being the only Black girl at Wagner Books so she’s excited when Hazel is hired. But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company."
Deadline's report went on to state that Garcelle is set to play "world-renowned author" Diana Gordon, who was best friends with the publishing company's former Black editor, Kendra Rae Phillips. "They lived in the same neighborhood and remained besties all throughout college, and Kendra Rae even edited the book that launched her into stardom,” the description continued. “Since the book came out, the pair have grown apart.”
Starring alongside Garcelle will be Bellamy Young, Eric McCormack, Sinclair Daniel, Ashleigh Murray, Brittany Adebumola, and Hunter Parrish.
Garcelle first announced her casting on Instagram back in December, writing in part, "What a Way to finish the year!!" Her followers agreed, and the post eventually garnered congratulatory comments from Bravolebrities and actors alike, including Garcelle's RHOBH castmates Dorit Kemsley and Crystal Kung Minkoff, as well as The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Karen Huger, The Real Housewives of New York City’s Eboni K. Williams, and The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi.
Among those in the industry to praise Garcelle were Debra Messing, Sherri Shepherd, and Adrienne Bailon.
Though production has officially wrapped on The Other Black Girl, it turns out the series is just one of the many projects Garcelle currently has in the works. Just last month, she announced that she's set to produce and star in the upcoming Lifetime original movie Black Girl Missing. Get more details on the role here.
