Emily Simpson on Noella Bergener Talking About Her Divorce: "It Consumed the Room"

Emily Simpson did not have a good reaction when Noella Bergener brought up her divorce as the ladies gathered for lunch at Shannon Storms Beador's home earlier this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. As Noella offered up her perspective on marriage after Dr. Jen Armstrong opened up to the women about the issues going on in her marriage to Ryne, some drama broke out between her and Emily, who told Noella that her divorce is "all you talk about."

So, when Emily appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 9, one member of the virtual audience wanted to know if Noella has "made an effort to not talk about it" since that moment at Shannon's lunch (clip above). "No. No," Emily said during the WWHL After Show, before clarifying, "Yes, I mean, I was interested in it; I just felt like it consumed the room and other people had things going on as well. I felt like we needed to allot time out to other people."

But divorce was all-consuming for Noella, who opened up more about this moment with Emily in The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show, exclusive to Bravo Insider members. "Any woman who's going through divorce knows you don't want to think about it, you don't want to relive it, I don't want to sound like a broken record, I don't want to be a victim. It just oozes out of you sometimes because it does occupy your soul," Noella shared in the below video. "And to be judged for that — and I don't think I do talk about it too much. It's been two seconds."

And so, that moment with Emily was extremely hurtful for Noella. "That stabbed my heart," she said. "What is it about me and what new dynamic is going on in your head that makes you think that it's OK to speak to me like that?"

These days, you'll find Noella talking about a different topic: her new relationship. The RHOC newcomer confirmed in January that she's dating again amid her ongoing divorce. “There’s somebody that I have known for years. He knew me married and knew my husband. That’s not weird at all, but we just have a lot of love and respect for each other,” she told Us Weekly earlier this year. “He was one of those that just constantly checked in on me.”

But Noella also added that the relationship is "very, very fresh." "So, who knows," she said. "At the end of the day, I have an amazing friend, but right now, we’re friends who kiss.”

Noella teased a little bit more about this new special someone in her life during her appearance on WWHL last week. "He's very, very cute," she said. "He's covered in tattoos, and maybe you'll see him soon."
