Now We Know What Really Happened with Noella, Gina, and Emily Inside That Sweat Lodge

Gina Kirschenheiter reveals some "really scary" details about this RHOC moment with Noella Bergener and Emily Simpson.

By Laura Rosenfeld

The Real Housewives of Orange County trip to Cabo continued in the February 2 episode, and while Heather Dubrow, Shannon Storms Beador, and Dr. Jen Armstrong spent the day looking at some multimillion dollar real estate, Noella Bergener, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson ended up having a much less relaxing vacay day.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

Noella, Gina, and Emily took part in a cleansing ceremony and sat in a sweat lodge, which proved to be a very emotional experience for the women. In the episode, we couldn't see exactly what was going on in the sweat lodge, but we could hear Emily and Noella share how "f--king hard" it was as they started to cry. "There is a wave of sadness that is coming out of me, and it is by force," Noella said in an interview during the episode, with Emily describing in her own interview, "Tears and snot and saliva and sweat pouring out."

With the temperature rising to above 100 degrees inside the sweat lodge, Noella started to not feel well and passed out. After she was removed from the sweat lodge, Noella soon recovered and was feeling much better.

So, what really went down in that sweat lodge? Noella, Gina, and Emily revealed everything we didn't see from the memorable Cabo moment in The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show exclusive to Bravo Insider members, above.

And let's just say, the women didn't mince words when it came to describing their time in the sweat lodge. "It was a horrible, horrible, horrible experience," Gina said, while Emily added, "It was really intense."

Noella also agreed that "it was definitely very intense," noting, "I mean that in the best and worst of ways." However, she was actually looking forward to taking in the whole sweat lodge experience, especially given the rocky start to the getaway. "I had never done anything like that. It was right up my alley. I love cleansing ceremonies. I figured this was the perfect time for it, you know, on the heels of not sleeping well and a very emotional day the night before," she said. "Probably not the best combination, especially with the heat, but it actually did work. What it was supposed to do, it did; it just went to another extreme where I did pass out [laughs]."

Gina recalled some "really scary" moments as things started to take a turn with Noella in the sweat lodge, including when production had to get involved, which you can hear more about in the above video.

She also spoke about the incident during her February 2 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (clip below), declaring that she won't be going to any more sweat lodges in the future. "You know what, it was really hot in there very quickly, and I was concerned for [Noella]. But she had a moment where, she was trying to stay and be respectful because it was a whole ceremony," Gina recounted to Andy Cohen. "But she was keeled over, and then she was moving gradually closer and closer to the door."

But all drama aside, the sweat lodge proved to be cathartic for Emily. "It doesn't make sense when you look at it that you're just gonna go inside this clay little hut that all of a sudden you would be invoked with all these emotions that are just coming up," she shared in the RHOC After Show. "I couldn't stop crying."

Noella said in the RHOC After Show that, even though she didn't have the best experience, she also saw the benefits of the sweat lodge. "That wasn't fun. Having my face in the dirt wasn't the highlight of the day. But when I did regain consciousness, I do remember having that cleansing feeling," she said. "I will never do it again, but I have no regrets that I did it."
