Lisa Gives an Update on Her Divorce — and Her Relationship with Lenny’s Mom
The RHOM cast member also revealed whether she noticed any warning signs that her marriage was about to end.
At the end of the fourth episode of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5, aptly titled “Hot Mic in Miami,” Dr. Lenny Hochstein revealed to a friend named Vito that he wanted to split up with his wife of more than 12 years, Lisa Hochstein.
Though Lenny was “whispering,” he was still wearing a microphone, which captured all that he had to say about the demise of his marriage.
Viewers will have to wait until the next episode drops on Peacock on Thursday, December 15, to find out exactly how Lisa reacted to the divorce news and learn how she told the rest of the ladies about her separation.
In the meantime, Lisa and her bestie, Larsa Pippen, appeared on the December 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, to discuss Season 5 and tease what’s been going on since filming wrapped.
During a round of “A New Lisa on Life,” which you can watch in the video above, Lisa said she was “devastated” and “shocked” when she saw her now-ex’s hot mic moment on the show for the first time. She also shared that it “almost confirmed some suspicions” she already had about his actions leading up to their “Good Vibes” party.
Though Lenny discussed his desire to get a divorce during the hot mic moment, Lisa shared that he didn’t tell her about his plans until a couple days later.
“It was actually two days after the ‘Good Vibes’ party, and I thought we were in a great place. Like, we were holding hands and taking photos together. Everything seemed lovely,” she explained on WWHL. “And then two days later, he was acting super strange, and I asked him, ‘What’s up?’… And he said, ‘We’re getting a divorce.’”
While she couldn’t recall exactly what she said next, she remembered that it was something to the effect of “You’re going to get a front-row seat to me dating.” Lenny has since gone public with his girlfriend, Katharina Mazepa.
In hindsight, Lisa said she believes she “ignored” signs that Lenny was getting ready to move on, including his renewed interest in working out.
Lisa certainly had a strong reaction to watching the hot mic moment play out, but she isn’t sure if her ex has seen the moment himself. After all, as she says in the video above, the exes “barely” talk. If they do speak, it’s “just about the kids” (they share a 7-year-old son, Logan, and 3-year-old daughter, Elle).
She’s not in contact with Lenny very often, but has her relationship with her mother-in-law changed? As viewers may remember, during the “Good Vibes” party, the mom of two recounted a moment from her wedding when her mother-in-law told her that “Hochsteins… never divorce.”
On WWHL, Lisa noted that her relationship with Lenny’s mom isn’t as strong as it once was.
“She had no idea, and she was definitely Team Lisa,” Lisa said of whether Lenny’s mom knew about the alleged cheating. “She was definitely on my side in the beginning. Today, you know, it’s her only son, so she’s more on his side. It’s expected.”
Lisa is now single, and she opens up about what she will (not) be looking for in a future partner in the video below.
