Now paging Dr. Nicole Martin. When The Real Housewives of Miami returned for Season 4, viewers got to meet Miami rookie Nicole, a “fellowship-trained anesthesiologist [that] specializes in peripheral nerve blocks that employ selective anesthesia to reduce intra-operative and post-surgical pain,” according to her BravoTV.com profile. Nicole joins the growing list of women doctors featured across Bravo shows, including several Real Housewives cities as well as Married to Medicine (which returns this July).

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Miami on Peacock and the Bravo App.

“I mean, it’s a huge honor, obviously, to represent the medical community. But in general, I think times are changing. The world is evolving. Women are moving out of the home and into the workspace. So to be in a position where I’m on a show and I can showcase that side of an empowered independent woman, to me is a huge honor. And that’s something I’ve been getting a lot from the fans,” she told The Daily Dish. “[They are] like, ‘Wow, we love that you’re a physician. We love that you’re a working mom.’ I think people are looking for that, kind of like a motivation or inspiration, and I’m so happy and honored to be able to be that.”

Earlier this year, Nicole reflected on being a medical professional on Instagram in honor of “Happy Doctors Day,” writing, “Cheers to all those who came before me and paved the way, the doctors that stand beside me making a difference, and those that will come after and continue to make strides in patient care. The journey is long, but it’s worth it. Big thank you to all the doctors for their dedication, sacrifice, and contribution to society. Love what you do.”

Nicole has let fans into all aspects of her life this season, from her friendships to her career to her home life (you can take a tour of Nicole’s amazing home above!) and more. This season gave fans deeper insight into everything going on in Nicole’s life, including her complicated relationship with her dad. She noted that if she was going to share her life on TV, she wanted to be an open book. “I’m the type of person that if I’m gonna do something, I do it a hundred percent,” she said. “So I figured if I’m gonna share my life [I'm going] to be completely authentic and genuine and open about who I am and where I came from.”

Nicole was also candid about her relationship status with her longtime partner, Anthony Lopez. They had been together for several years and have a 3-year-old son, Greyson, but at the time of filming Season 4, she noted she was in no rush to get married. “I have some girlfriends that really, all they want is to get married, and if they’ve been with their boyfriend for three years and he doesn’t propose, they’re like pressuring him and threatening to leave him. That’s not my vibe,” she shared with The Daily Dish in an interview that took place as the season was airing and shortly after they became engaged. She noted, “We wanted to do things our way.”

Since sharing the news of their engagement, Nicole and Anthony have celebrated their next chapter with a glamorous engagement party. And of course, there’s still a wedding to plan. But don’t expect Nicole to call on RHOM’s resident party planner, Guerdy Abraira, to plan the nuptials.

“I think Guerdy is an incredible wedding planner, event planner. I personally, though, don’t like to mix business,” she said. “I value Guerdy’s friendship far too much than to get into an argument over flowers or napkin colors or something silly. So I like to keep my friends and business far apart.”

Shady Questions for the RHOM Cast

BTW, Guerdy agrees: “I’ve always been able to conduct business set in separation from friendship, but it may not work the other way around. So, you got to listen to the message and the hints here and there. So I’m not rushing to plan [Nicole’s] wedding because I would rather just support her emotionally in whatever way I can, and maybe I’ll go to tasting and dress shopping, but I don’t know if I need to be the leader of the pack in that sense. So, ideally, I would love to watch her get married as a friend... Whatever she needs from me, I will be there to support her in any capacity.”

Now that the latest season of RHOM has been shared with the world (first streaming on Peacock and now encoring on Bravo), Nicole shared her assessment of Season 4 and everything that went down during it.

“The season had its ups and downs. These women have been friends for over a decade. And so there’s a lot of very strong bonds. And sometimes there are these like blind alliances that are really hard to kind of get through, so that certainly was a challenge throughout this season,” she reflected. “But I think eventually we kinda found our groove and I found my space in the group. And it’s so weird... I mean I cringe at some things. I call my friends and I’m like, ‘Was that really that bad?’ And they’re like, ‘It was fine. You handled it great.’”
