Ashlee Holmes Malleo Reacts to Mom Jacqueline Laurita and Teresa Giudice’s Reunion
The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter also shared new details about the meetup.
Ashlee Holmes Malleo is sharing her thoughts on the recent reunion between her mom, Jacqueline Laurita, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Teresa Giudice.
"I saw her reconnect with Teresa, and I was like, ‘Teresa? Really?'" Ashlee told Page Six, adding that she immediately texted her mother to hear more about the meet-up. "I’m very blunt. My mom and I have that sister relationship. I was like, ‘You know, I wish you guys well.'"
She went on to explain that her mom detailed "the whole situation" and "how it went down."
"It was just kind of recapping [that] they were both going through really stressful times in their lives when they had that fallout," Ashlee shared.
Said fallout occurred after tensions between Jacqueline and her former BFF Teresa reached an all-time high during RHONJ during Season 7 — Jacqueline's last — and their relationship had been strained ever since.
Thankfully, that's no longer the case. In fact, they're currently "talking all the time," Ashlee revealed. "Ever since [the meet-up], I’ve been on the phone with my mom, and she’ll be like, ‘Oh, hold on, Teresa’s calling. Let me call you right back.'"
The reconciliation is a long time coming, but according to Ashlee, Teresa's actually tried to get in touch with Jacqueline several times “in the past." The only problem? Her mom “just didn’t pick up the phone.” This time, however, "I think they were both at a place where they were ready to reconnect," Ashlee said.
She went on to praise Teresa for "going to therapy," and her husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas, for "helping [her] work on herself."
"I believe in growth. I believe people can change and grow. Otherwise, what’s the point?" Ashlee added. "As you get older, it gets harder to change, but I do believe it’s possible."
ICYMI, Jacqueline and Teresa's reunion took place in February over lunch at Cipriani Las Vegas. Both ladies took to Instagram to mark the occasion, sharing a photo of them together with the caption, "[Five] hour lunch! Lots to talk about. Lots of laughs too! Reunited and it feels so good!”
The two were joined by Louie and Jacqueline's husband, Chris Laurita. Louie shared his own Instagram post featuring photos with Chris, writing, “This weekend I got a chance to meet this amazing guy.”
Teresa opened up about the hang-out during her February 14 appearance on WWHL, explaining that she had recently “been thinking” about Jacqueline “a lot.”
“She’s been on my mind a lot, and I was going to Vegas to see Bruno Mars, so I reached out to her,” Teresa added, making sure to note that any tension with Melissa Gorga “didn’t have to do with” their decision to see each other.
As for the past drama between Teresa and Jacqueline? “Time heals all wounds,” Teresa said. “It really does.”
