The Real Housewives of New Jersey crew is all about family… drama. And when Season 13 kicks off on February 7, Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Joe Gorga are dealing with a tense family dynamic (which you can read more about by clicking over here).
Are Melissa and Teresa Currently Speaking?
Melissa recently spoke to E! News and revealed that they “haven’t” been communicating. Teresa shared a similar update when speaking to Us Weekly, recently confirming that they “don’t speak.”
Not only does Melissa open up more about the tensions in her family in the RHONJ Season 13 premiere (see the clip at the top of the post) but Teresa also elaborates on the family’s dynamic and what she thinks is causing the rift in another first-look clip from the February 7 episode. How Teresa Feels After the Drama with Melissa and Joe Stemming from Her Wedding
Fans will get to follow the family’s dynamic throughout Season 13 (which premieres on Tuesday), and they will also get an invite to Teresa’s wedding (a special will air later in the season; check out the preview below). As fans will recall, Joe and Melissa missed Teresa’s nuptials to Luis “Louie” Ruelas.
Teresa commented on their relationship following that drama. “I’m happy for them. I wish them well and I wish they wished me the same back,” she told Us Weekly. “I’m focusing on my family, my daughters, on my stepsons, on my husband. So that’s what I’m working on. And putting myself first, because for a long time I haven’t put myself first. So now this is my time.”
Will Melissa Watch Teresa’s Wedding Featured on RHONJ Season 13?
So, will the Gorgas tune in? “I’m sure I will watch,” Melissa told E! News. “I don’t know if Joe can watch, it is hurtful to him if I’m being honest. It’s so sad that he’s her only living relative and somehow he’s not there. It was just awful the way it went down.”
Melissa Reflects on the Drama Around Teresa’s Wedding Ahead of Season 13
Melissa went on to say that at the time Teresa and Louie were marrying last summer, tensions between Teresa, Joe, and Melissa were built up after an “accumulation” of events. “There is something that was the icing on the cake that really hurt us,” Melissa added in her interview with E! News.
That sentiment mirrors comments that Dolores Catania recently made in a separate interview with the outlet regarding the Gorgas missing Teresa’s August 2022 wedding to Louie. “I just think it was a pivotal time for everyone,” she revealed to E! News, though she said Teresa “wanted her brother and his family there.” She added that her BFF was “devastated” when Melissa, Joe, and their kids missed the wedding, but that they had reached a “breaking point” around that time.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 premieres on Tuesday, February 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a 75-minute supersize episode. Each week, the episode will stream the next day on Peacock.
