When The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby announced her separation from husband Michael Darby in April, she insisted in a statement to The Daily Dish that they would continue “putting [their] hearts and souls into” co-parenting their sons, Dean and Dylan. Now, five months later, the former couple are still making good on that promise.

On September 19, Ashley shared an Instagram meme that read, “Providing a peaceful home for your children is a real flex,” using the caption to update fans on how that sentiment applies to her current relationship with Michael.

“Venturing into a new chapter of life, this will remain the priority for both Michael and me,” the RHOP mom explained. “Being a parent is a huge responsibility, especially considering the potential impact these future adults will have on the world. But rest assured — we are MADE for this.”

Ashley continued, “In a world that’s this loud [and] chaotic, we must remember that children need patience, guidance, love and care. This applies not only to what they experience, but also what they witness. Some call it ‘gentle parenting’ — really it’s just humaning.”

Her candid statement seemed to strike a chord with several other Bravolebs, including fellow RHOP cast member Gizelle Bryant, who commented, “Amen Somebody,” as well as The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Marlo Hampton and The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Braunwyn Windham-Burke.

To further illustrate her point, Ashley shared on her Instagram Stories a photo with 1-year-old Dylan on the “last day of summer,” explaining that her other son, Dean, 3, was “camping with Daddy and having so much fun.” In a follow-up post, she gave a post-camping update: “My guy can’t stop raving about his camping experience!” she wrote, adding that Dean “saw turtles but didn’t catch any fish.”

Earlier this year, Ashley gave another co-parenting update on Father’s Day, revealing why she’s “so thankful” for the type of dad Michael is to their “incredible” boys. “The way your eyes light up whenever you see them really touches my heart,” she shared in the caption of a June 19 father-son photo of the trio.

You love to see it.

Season 7 of RHOP will follow Ashley in her new chapter in life. According to a press release for the new season, “Ashley Darby recently separated from Michael, and her main focus is motherhood with a little TikTok on the side. She’s looking for a new home for herself and her boys, but with Michael’s help, which makes the women question if she wants to be free of him.”

RHOP Season 7 premieres on Bravo on Sunday, October 9, at 8/7c with a 75-minute supersize premiere (!!) and streaming the next day on Peacock. Preview the juicy new season below.
