Did Richard Blais' Cooking Help This Olympian Win a Medal?
The #TopChef judge shows Team USA how to eat like champions.
If cooking ever became an Olympic sport, Top Chef judge Richard Blais would definitely be a contender for the gold. So it's no surprise that Team USA enlisted his culinary skills to cook up some Olympics-inspired dishes as they crush it during this year's Summer Games in Rio.
Richard is the host of Season 2 of the Cooking with Team USA web series, which launched on Team USA's website last month. In it, he prepares meals while talking all things Olympics with Rio Olympians, including shot put gold medalist Michelle Carter, judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison, and 3000m steeplechase bronze medalist Emma Coburn.
Richard's instruction may have even helped Emma win that bronze. "Hey, Richard. Thanks for the support, and thanks for teaching me how to poach an egg," Emma said in a video message for Richard posted on Twitter Tuesday. "I now use that tip you gave me probably three times a week, so lots of protein from that tip you gave me."
We're thinking Richard should now cook these Olympians a meal to celebrate.
