Shep Rose and Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost have surfed together, vacationed together, and now we know that they both know how to raise eyebrows with their appearance, too. If that's not the mark of a true friendship, we don't know what is.
Jost recently grabbed headlines after some throwback photos of the Weekend Update anchor sporting a beard surfaced around the time former SNL writer John Mulaney hosted the sketch show on April 14. Fans were shocked to see the usually clean-shaven Jost looking a bit scruffy circa 2008. Jost can be seen with a beard in the far left of the below photo taken with the SNL cast and writers, as well as in the below photo taken with Mulaney.
We were similarly shook when Shep posted some photos of himself forgoing shaving while on vacation last year. Even Andy Cohen had some thoughts.
When it comes to Jost's buzzy beard, perhaps what really matters is what his girlfriend Scarlett Johansson thinks of it. When Johansson was confronted with the above vintage pic of Jost and Mulaney on Ellen Tuesday, her initial reaction was, "I can't unsee it now. Oh, no."
She added, "I can't say that that's an image that I'll ever forget."
Johansson joked that finding out about Jost's past facial hair makes her want to break up with her beau. "That's how I'll always remember him by now that we're broken up," Johansson quipped when a current photo of her and Jost reappeared on the screen on Ellen.
But the couple looked as strong as ever when they made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War in Los Angeles on Monday, April 23.
Johansson and Jost turned heads on the red carpet of the Avengers: Infinity War premiere.
And because we can never get enough throwback photos of Shep, check some out, below.
