Savannah Chrisley Got Engaged in December... But We're Just Learning About It Now(!!)

Surprise! Savannah Chrisley is engaged to professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles — and has been since December 24. The Chrisley Knows Best daughter, 21, confirmed the proposal to PEOPLE just this week, months after he popped the question in front of their family and friends.

And, yes, 25-year-old Nic got her always-opinionated dad Todd Chrisley's blessing before he popped the question with a 5-carat ring. “It’s funny because Nic wanted to ask them in person, but he was in Canada and we were all in Nashville. He FaceTimed my dad. My dad said he was so nervous when he FaceTimed him, that he asked my dad for his hand in marriage! And my dad was like, ‘You may want to re-ask that question.’ He was like, ‘Do you want my daughter’s hand in marriage or my hand in marriage?’ Nic hung up the phone and called back, and then asked him the right way," Savannah shared about their conversation. "And it was just so funny. My dad said he was so nervous.”

The couple began dating in November 2017 after meeting on Instagram and had been talking about taking the next step before he eventually proposed late last year. And now with several months of engaged bliss behind them, Savannah noted she's in no rush to walk down the aisle anytime soon.

“We’re taking our time," she told PEOPLE. "Just because you’re engaged doesn’t mean you have to get married tomorrow. So, we’re kind of just taking our time. We know that we want to spend the rest of our life with each other.'”
