When Shannon Beador's daughter, Sophie Beador, isn't busy plotting out her next chapter (aka college — yes we're all getting old), the 17-year-old has found a passion for religion. The high school junior was baptized over the summer — and her The Real Housewives of Orange County mom shared footage of her on Instagram performing in a church talent show over the weekend. But, as Shannon recently explained to The Daily Dish, Sophie didn't always feel this strongly about religion.
"We used to take the kids to church and she was the one that was most adament not going. And she went to an event one night with her friends and she started going to chuch," Shannon shared, noting that her teen daughter has always been on a mission trip to Haiti over the symmer. "So she decided on her own to be baptized. [It was] the most incredible night to have a child that's willing to do that ... it's all good. I'm so grateful."
And Sophie definitely has a lot to look forward to these days, including scouting out where she plans to go to college next year. "It's bittersweet for me," Shannon explained about how she and her daughter are plotting out trips to visit colleges. "Well, Sophie knows the percentage acceptance rates to all the different colleges."
The OC mom added, "She would love to go a to football school, a big football school in the south because she thinks the boys will be sweeter in the south, which I think is cute." However, Shannon also pointed out that her alma mater, USC, definitely ranks at the top of Sophie's list of school to attend in the near future. So this time next year she might be shouting "Go Trojans!" just like her mama.
You can catch Shannon every Monday at 9/8c on RHOC. Preview, below.
