The Real Housewife Who Grew Up with Shep Rose Is Spilling All on His "Funny, Goofy, Honest Self"
"He was one of my best guy friends," she shared.
It's no secret that Southern Charm's Shep Rose loves to kick it with his fellow members of the Bravo family. Whether it's rocking out with Andy Cohen, starting a bromance with Jax Taylor, or getting a little flirty with a Summer House alum, Shep would probably show up in every one of your Bravo-themed Six Degrees of Separation games.
However, there is one Bravoleb who knew Shep way before he became a fixture on the network. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave grew up with Shep in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. "We both lived in Sea Pines, and we were friends throughout our childhoods," Teddi told The Daily Dish earlier this season (clip above). "Shep has a great family, so we were always there."
Teddi recalled always hanging out with Shep when he came home from boarding school during breaks for the summer and major holidays throughout the year. "It was the same group always. He was one of my best guy friends," she shared.

One of her fondest memories of Shep involves trying to score a spot on his guest list for his annual Christmas party. "Like, there was a list. You wanted to know if you could go to Shep's party [laughs]," she said. "And I remember, I don't know, I remember a lot of Boone's Farm. I remember a lot of fun times at Shep's house. Every time with Shep is always a little crazy. His whole family, everybody's great. You can't help but laugh when you're around the Rose family."
Teddi said she and Shep still keep in touch today. He even offered her some words of wisdom as Teddi began her own foray into reality TV, joining the RHOBH cast in Season 8. "He just said, 'The only advice I can give you is to be you. It is what it is, and that's how you can feel comfortable in everything that you do,'" Teddi said. "And it's good advice."
To Teddi, Shep is still the same old kid she grew up with in Hilton Head Island. "He's always kind of been his same funny, goofy, honest self, and everybody loves Shep for it. So that's really all I know of him ever since he was a kid," Teddi said. "He's just Shep. Now the fact that there's a TV show showing about him, it's not shocking to me."
We'll get to see Shep back on Southern Charm soon enough. The series returns for Season 5 on Thursday, April 5 at 9/8c. Get your first look at the new season, below.
