Shep Rose Thanks Fans for Support Following Fire at His Charleston Restaurant Palace Hotel
The #SouthernCharm restaurant owner confirms there was a blaze at the Palace Hotel.
Southern Charm restaurant owner Shep Rose has confirmed to The Daily Dish that a fire broke out at his Charleston eatery, Palace Hotel. "The fire started in an apartment above the restaurant," he explained in an email. "With the help of our employees and a neighborhood resident, they were able to drag the gentleman out of the burning apartment. He's now in critical condition. It was a very scary and tense situation. It's just too early to tell about what will happen from here business-wise. We're just hoping that the tenant upstairs is able to make it out of the hospital soon."
According to Live 5 News a fire was extinguished in the early hours of Thursday (January 21). The cause for the fire is still being investigated by officials from the City of Charleston Fire Department. The five people in the building at the time of the fire were able to get out safely, with the person who lives in the apartment above the restaurant being taken to the hospital. Shep thanked his fans on Twitter for their support.
