With two simple sentences, Jax Taylor made Vanderpump Rules history: "Dude, stop acting like you're the number one f-cking guy in this group, man. I'm the number one guy in this group."

But where did the declaration come from? Let's break it down.

In Season 4, Episode 16, Jax made the declaration to his longtime friend Tom Sandoval during a gathering at Scheana Shay's apartment. In the midst of a heated exchange about Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney's upcoming engagement party, Schwartz decided to head out of the conversation, at which point Jax dropped the highly-quotable line. Check out the video above to watch it all go down.

Sandoval's reaction to Jax identifying as the crew's top dog? "You don't get to decide that your ego is just going to try to pull f-cking rank on me, or something," he said in an interview during the episode.

It all made for an unforgettable moment. That's why in the seven seasons of Vanderpump Rules since Jax first said it, "I'm the number one guy in this group!" has become something of a running joke.

So, once Jax and Brittany Cartwright (both stars of upcoming Bravo series The Valley) moved on to raise their family, the title was unofficially bestowed unto Sandoval. Ahead of the Season 10 reunionJames Kennedy jokingly accepted the honor in his place.

Of course, there isn't actually a group hierarchy, but the concept of the show's number one guy lives on. And now it lives on merch, too.

Whether you're looking for a way to declare your number one guy status or celebrating someone else's, merch that literally says "number one guy in this group" is a must-have for any fan of Vanderpump Rules
