Top Chef Season 21 heads to Wisconsin with new host Kristen Kish
After longtime host Padma Lakshmi announced her departure from Top Chef in June 2023, Kristen was announced as the host for Season 21. "Top Chef is where I started my journey,” she said at the time. “I’m thrilled to sit alongside Gail and Tom as we get to know new incredible chefs and see what they cook up. It feels like coming home.” In addition to her time on Top Chef, Kristen returned to the series as a guest judge over the years and appeared on Top Chef Duels. "There is something very valuable to having Kristen on our side of the table because she has so much empathy; she’s been there before," Gail told BravoTV.com in 2023.
In addition, for the first time ever, Top Chef is headed to Wisconsin as its season location. Quickfire and Elimination Challenges will specifically be taking place in Milwaukee and Madison. Expect farm-fresh ingredients and cheese-related challenges (Wisconsin is home to the Cheese Capital of the World, after all). "We are honored to be able to welcome Top Chef to Wisconsin for its upcoming season. We’re proud to be known here for our rich food culture, talented chefs, and exceptional local ingredients,” Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said in a statement. “I know our diverse culinary traditions will help inspire the participants, captivate viewers, and showcase all of the great things Wisconsin has to offer.” And based on the Season 21 trailer, you can also expect familiar faces stopping by the Judges' Table.
