During the "It's All About to Go South" panel at BravoCon 2023, the Southern Charm cast dished about Craig Conover's long-distance relationship, Shep Rose's dog, and Madison LeCroy's life as a mom, but the crew also discussed some heavier topics, like the recent deaths of Olivia Flowers' brother, Conner Flowers, and Taylor Ann Green's brother, Richard Worthington "Worth" Green.

In January 2023, while filming Season 9, Olivia learned the tragic news that her brother had passed away. About five months later, Taylor lost her older brother as well.

The ladies shared how they've been doing amid their recent difficult times during the BravoCon panel and at the Southern Charm Season 9 reunion.

Taylor Ann Green and Olivia Share Family Updates at BravoCon After Losing Their Brothers

Olivia first addressed how supportive her fellow castmates were after she found out about her brother's death.

"That was definitely one of the positives out of this season was that I got to explore new friendships," she said. "And that's really where people stepped up for me, regardless of what was going on."

Prior to Conner's passing, Olivia had been clashing with Taylor because the latter cast member had kept her kiss with Austen secret. However, the ladies quickly put aside their differences when Olivia experienced a family tragedy.

"That's what a true friendship is, like, regardless of the circumstance, you show up for the person," she continued. "And I really felt that from some, and I'm very, very appreciative... As well as the fans, I've been overwhelmed with all of the people [who've] reached out, and just shared their stories. So, thank you."

Taylor also opened up about the "surreal" loss.

"Olivia [was] one of the first people to knock on my door and sit in bed with me and cry," she said. "So, we've been able to kind of put things aside and what's really real and going on in our lives. Everybody's been great, everybody's stepped up, as they did for her."

Taylor Ann Green and Olivia Flowers Reflect on the Loss of Their Brothers at the Southern Charm Season 9 Reunion

During Part 2 of the Southern Charm Season 9 reunion on January 18, Olivia first shared how her parents have been holding up after the tragic loss. "They're not that good," she said through tears. "My parents are just tying to get through, figure out their new reality."

She also thanked her Southern Charm castmates for rallying around her once more. "I was very fortunate," she added. "Everyone stepped up and we really appreciate that."

Reunion host Andy Cohen later expressed his condolences to Taylor for the loss of her brother.

Olivia did the same while reflecting on her and Taylor being on the outs after the Austen drama. "My heart breaks for you every single day for what you and your family are going through, honestly," Olivia told Taylor at the reunion. "I'm more sad that I couldn't be there for you in the way that, it's kind of crazy, I can because I know what you're feeling. That has been sad to me but I don't ever wish bad on you. I hated this for you."

Austen Kroll Opens Up About Connecting with Olivia Flowers

Shortly before BravoCon 2023 commenced, Austen appeared on the November 2 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Because he lost his older sister when he was a kid, he felt like it was important to reach out to Olivia, his ex, as she navigated a similar situation.

"It was very tough for me, because I felt like I was like, 'I should be the one who was there for her,' but I've obviously chosen not to be that person... Then this tragedy kind of happens," he said.

Austen admitted that he's "known to be an overthinker," but he thought, "'This is not that time to be the overthinker that you know you are.'"

"So I was like, 'Just shut up and do what you know that you should do and just go and see her and hug her," he continued.

He then shared new details about what it was like to see Olivia for the first time following her brother's death.

"It was like that kind of moment that I'll never forget, because I missed her on the first day... so I went the next day to see her, and then she didn't answer," he explained. "So, I walked down to Shep's house — because that's how close that they live. I walked down to Shep's house, and he was on the couch, of course, and I was like, 'I missed her.' She calls me, and I'm like 'Boom,' out the door."

"I ran out to see her and had this rom-com movie moment of just meeting in the driveway and collapsing into each other," he concluded. "It was just a moment you can't really describe."
