You Could Say That Patricia Altschul's Idea for Her Upcoming Wedding Is the Opposite of Southern Charm
"I'm not being facetious!" the Southern Charm grand dame said.
Patricia Altschul is the epitome of southern charm and elegance. But when it comes to her upcoming wedding to her elusive fiancé simply known to Southern Charm fans as Mr. C, she has something a bit more rock 'n' roll in mind.
Patricia told The Daily Dish earlier this season that she and Mr. C have been so busy, they haven't had a chance to decide when they'll tie the knot. However, she already has an idea of how she'd like to say "I do" to her beau. "I want to get married in Las Vegas at the Elvis drive-thru chapel," Patricia revealed. "I'm not being facetious! I absolutely want to do that!"
According to Patricia, who has been married three times, "big weddings are a waste of money." "Well, the first time I got married, I was 20, and my mother said, 'Do you want a big wedding or a big check?' And I said, 'I'll take the big check, thank you.' I mean, I was in school, and it came in handy," she explained. "I've been married on a yacht. I've been married by a trust officer of the bank. I've been married by a judge. So the last thing left is the Elvis Presley Chapel."
Patricia said that she hasn't "even thought about" if any of the Charmers will be involved in the nuptials and that it could be a "spontaneous" affair. Well, Patricia, if you do decide to send out invites beforehand, we'll gladly take one!
As for who the lucky fella is, Patricia has been keeping pretty mum when it comes to details about Mr. C. However, she did reveal to The Daily Dish that the two have known each other for 20-odd years, and they have a lot of mutual friends in New York. "He's in high finance, international. He's a workaholic. Thank God, because that let's me do my frivolous things that I enjoy in my life," she shared. "He's just a lovely man."
So why did Patricia say "yes" to Mr. C's proposal? "Because I'm a yes person," she said. "'No' would seem so unfriendly."
And why wouldn't she say "yes" when she likes being a wife so much? "I enjoy being married. Let's face it, men are a lot of work but are definitely worth the effort," she said. "At my age, I like the idea of companionship."
