Olivia Flowers Reveals the Real Reason She Was Upset Over Taylor & Austen's Confession
Go inside Olivia and Taylor's emotional conversation on Southern Charm Season 9, Episode 5.
After Shep Rose asked Austen Kroll to "speak the f-cking truth" about his relationship with Taylor Ann Green on Southern Charm Season 9, Episode 5, Austen made the ultimate revelation: He and Taylor — a.k.a. Shep's ex and the best friend of his own ex, Olivia Flowers — had indeed kissed in the past.
Shep took the news surprisingly well and even forgave Austen, but Taylor and Olivia's conversation on the matter was a bit more complicated.
To find out what went down between the two as well as where their friendship stands today, keep reading.
Taylor Ann Green's Confession to Olivia Flowers About Austen Kroll
Unable to meet with Olivia prior to Shep's sit-down dinner — which included attendees like Austen, Craig Conover, and Paige DeSorbo, among others — Taylor opted to use the gathering to tell Olivia about her and Austen's kiss.
In doing so, she explained, "The full truth is that we did kiss. And I was like, 'Okay, do I kick her while she's already down, or do I try not to hurt her?' And that's what I was trying to do. Like, I don't want to hurt you."
Olivia began to ask for details, including how Taylor and Austen could go from kissing to saying, "Never mind, we don't like each other," as Taylor had previously told her.
"It was a drunken kiss," Taylor replied. "That's when we had the conversation and I was like, 'I think I'm just lost in my emotions.'"
Olivia Flowers' Reaction to Taylor Ann Green's Confession About Austen Kroll
Olivia was naturally upset, but "not even about the kiss," she told Taylor. "It's been months. I'm walking into this like a f-cking idiot."
"It's like there's so many levels of betrayal here," Olivia continued in a confessional interview. "Like, [Taylor] lying about it when I've given [her] so many opportunities to just lay it all out. I'm just like really hoping she's gonna say something to make sense of this bullsh-t, but she's not. And it's gonna change sh-t. It's really, really gonna change sh-t."
Taylor admitted she was "not a good friend" for lying to Olivia, but she ultimately "doubled down" because she was "trying to protect" Austen.
"Why aren't you protecting me and my feelings in this?" Olivia responded. "Like, 'Well, tell her the truth but not all the truth'? That's sh-tty. To know that the friend that I genuinely actually care about is having conversations with him on how not to tell me something, that f-cks our friendship."
The pair seemed as though they were going to continue talking, but Shep interrupted them so that dinner could start. Later, Olivia and Austen sat down to talk, but she made it clear that while she cares about her friendship with Taylor, the same can't be said for their own friendship. "It takes a lot for me to genuinely want nothing to do with a person," Olivia told him, "and that's where I'm at with you."
Where do Olivia Flowers and Taylor Ann Green stand today?
Olivia was asked on the Oct. 5 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen how much she "currently trust[s]" Taylor on a scale from one to ten, and she replied, "Does it go in the negatives?"
What's more, Olivia recently told ET of the drama, "Honestly, my head's still spinning from it."
"I haven't, honestly, processed a lot of things from the season, so I feel like watching it back, I'm gonna be as surprised as the viewers because I haven't been caught up with the reality of it," she added.
As for the future of Olivia and Taylor's friendship, Olivia explained, "At the beginning, I really did want it to be, she and I, OK out of it. But it wasn't that easy, and at the end of the day, you kinda have to listen to yourself and take a step back and look at bird's eye view."
For now, the pair's friendship is "surface level," Olivia added. "It's certainly not what it was before."
At the same time, "I don't want the 'Team Olivia,' 'Team Taylor' thing," Olivia said.
